50 ways to entertain your dog

Struggling to think of ways to entertain your dog?  Fido getting bored of doing the same old thing?  Well, this should help!  Below, I’ve listed 50 ways in which you can entertain your dog.  Actually, some will probably entertain you more than the dog but that’s good too.  If the method you use to entertain your dog isn’t listed then please let us know by leaving a comment.

1. Sing to it.
2. Chase it.
3. Talk to it.
4. Make it run after you.
5. Play fetch.
6. Laugh in its face for no reason.
7. Give it a treat.
8. Give it a toilet roll tube.
9. Hug it.
10. Let it near an open dustbin…then close it.
11. Take it for a walk.
12. Play hide and seek.
13. Get it a new toy.
14. Bury your head in your hands and make it dig for you
15. Go into its crate and close yourself in there…with the dog outside.
16. Hide under your bed sheets.
17. Put one of its toys on your head.
18. Blow a raspberry in its face.
19. Get a laser and whirl it around the floors/walls.
20. Run around a tree and make it catch you.
21. Stand outside your front door and wave at it.
22. Lick it back.
23. Play chase around your couch.
24. Let it take ‘nuisance calls’ for you.
25. Say ‘walkies’ to it.
26. Take it on a car ride.
27. Let it ‘talk’ to strangers dogs.
28. Visit a chip shop with it.
29. Make a fuss over a stick that it can’t reach then throw it for them.
30. Play ’superdog’ with it (pick it up and make it fly through the air!)
31. Put its tail near its mouth so it chases it in a circle.
32. Scratch its belly.
33. You, spin around in a circle so it gets confused and excited.
34. Let it watch you eat dinner.
35. Talk to it about your problems.
36. Invent a voice for it then speak in it, to your dog, with its imaginary thoughts.
37. Put post through your letterbox.
38. Crawl around on the floor with it.
39. Get another dog!
40. Threaten to send it to a shelter then laugh when it gets excited!
41. Show it the contents of your refrigerator.
42. Squeeze its bottom whilst making a ‘quacking’ sound.
43. Whistle to it.
44. Let it sniff your wash basket.
45. Blow bubbles for it.
46. Splash it with water when doing the washing up.
47. Go running with it.
48. Hide under your sweater and talk to it.
49. Put it on your lap and let it type an email.
50. Take it to the beach.

I like number 30. Play superdog with it. It worked well when Stetson was a puppy, but now that he weighs over 80 pounds it’s a little more difficult.
